Alexander John Sebastian Cavaluzzo (Pisces, Pescatarian, Blood Type O-) writes, lives and creates in the East Village.

He has been on the mastheads of glossy magazines (like Andy Warhol's Interview Magazine, Newsweek, BlackBook Magazine, Hyperallergic, and Travel + Leisure), worked with eminent cultural institutions (Mellon Foundation, Mana Contemporary) as well as created award-winning content for Fortune 50 brands (Claritin, Svedka, eBay, +)

He sustains an artistic practice that mingles painting, printmaking, sartorial sculpture, photography and conceptual artwork, which has been included in group shows in various galleries, a group show at Miami Art Basel, and a solo pop-up exhibition sponsored by streetlab at Chelsea Market. 

His poem “Marilyn’s Lips” was included in the award-winning 2022 anthology, I Wanna Be Loved By You from Milk & Cake Press, where it pays tribute to Marilyn Monroe amongst other poems by authors like Sylvia Plath and Frank O’Hara. his essay “Screening New York” was one of ten selected for publication in the Corona Chronicle (Ellipsis rare books, 2022)

In 2021, the New York Foundation For the Arts awarded him a $5000 grant and inducted him to the City Artists Corps, part of an initiative to reinvigorate post-pandemic New York City by supporting artists and engaging communities through creativity.

He recently completed a fellowship at the Writers’ Institute at the CUNY Graduate Center.
